You cannot "crack" the password. But you can reset the inverter to factory state—, including the grid code lock.
Victron MultiPlus, Quattro, and Inverter RS devices store these pre-defined grid codes inside their firmware. When you perform a for a grid-tied or hybrid system, you must select the correct grid code for your region.
Let’s look at three common cases where the grid code password is critical.
Here are the legitimate ways to obtain the password:
A is a set of technical parameters that defines how an inverter or ESS interacts with the public electricity grid. These parameters include limits on voltage, frequency, active power response, loss-of-mains detection speed, and anti-islanding requirements. Every country, and sometimes individual regions within a country, has its own grid code regulations.
Adhering to local regulations (e.g., VDE-AR-N 4105 in Germany, G99 in the UK).
The initial selection of the grid code is designed to be straightforward and does require a password.
Because modifying these parameters can destabilize the local grid or violate utility agreements, Victron restricts access to certified installers. How to Obtain the Grid Code Password
Select the exact grid standard required by your local utility company.
To avoid grid code password issues entirely:
Connect your Victron Multi/Quattro to your PC using a MK3-USB interface. Open . Go to the Grid tab. Select the correct grid code for your country.
If you are using the VictronConnect app via a Bluetooth Smart Dongle, you can also change the grid code. It will ask for the same installer password ( ZZZZ ) when changing grid-related parameters.
Entering these three lowercase letters grants full access to the grid protection parameters. Why are Grid Codes Locked?
Are you integrating a system or a completely Off-Grid system?
